I’m A Suzuki Driving Soccer Dad - For Real

Being a single father to a pair of 7 year old twin boys isn’t anything like a walk in a park. Even more so since its little league soccer season again. This season yours truly will be responsible for getting the uniforms produced.

Being one of just 3 men among 13 women in our team’s committee, it was quite a challenge to persuade the majority to agree not to change the team’s kit color from red to what I’ve been told is known as egg shell. But as much as we tried, we failed in our valiant attempt to change the team name to The Red Bulls from The Red Flamingos.

After looking for team uniforms, and believe it or not - sponsors, I realized that our team did not have its own logo. I spoke of this point with the other 2 dads and we concluded that it would probably be a a great idea if we were to have our own team symbol. So we agreed to design a logo sample each and display them to the committee.

The three of us convened the following weekend with our works of art and had a good spine splitting laugh, before we concluded that maybe designing wasn’t our thing. Seemingly my Flamingo looked like a Woodpecker on banned anabolic matter. The so called works of pure creative genius from the other two guys weren’t that much better. One could pass for a piece by Picasso and the other appeared like bored doodlings from a unfortunate victim of a 4 hour long company meeting. But we went forward and handed the design drafts to the committee nonetheless.

Though the committee unanimously barred the three of us from designing anything for the club until such time when a certain place freezes over, they did agree that our little league soccer team should certainly have its own logo. So I excitedly went home and did a search for logo design austria, shortlisted a couple of design firms and presented them to the committee.

Now we are glad to announce that our soccer team has its very own logo. We had logo sewed on badges made for the jerseys and logo stickers produced just for fun - thanks to a bit of sponsorship we got from the ice cream shop we always take the kids to after a game. The logo itself looks very cool with a an unmistakeably red Flamingo standing on one leg and the other casually resting on a soccer ball looking like the real deal.

I heard a little rumor that next year yours truly will be in charge of water based sustenance. I’m contemplating taking it a notch higher and am in the process of getting the paperwork done to present to Accelerade about a sponsorship package.
